Strawberry Hill Ballet School Social Distancing Policy for Parents and Students.
This has been written with adherence to government advice and guidance from national dance bodies to ensure a safe return to our classes.
The main actions that Strawberry Hill Ballet School will be taking:
• We will be cleaning halls regularly
• Adapting operations to keep you safe
• Following government advice
• Planning classes to allow for social distancing
• Reviewing policies and safety measures regularly
• Applying extra hygiene measures.
What actions are Strawberry Hill Ballet School taking to ensure the safety for our students and parents? What new safety measures have we have put in place to reduce the risk of infection and transmission of the virus?
• Hand sanitiser will be available at all halls
• 2m social distancing spacing for dance classes
• Managing capacity of class sizes, halls and waiting areas
• Increasing the frequency of hand washing and surface cleaning, including disinfection of high footfall areas or common touchpoints with particular attention to toilets/restrooms
• Barres, mats and high traffic areas will be washed between each class.
• We will not use props
• Using back-to-back or side-to-side working (rather than face-to-face) whenever possible
• Reducing the number of people each person has contact with by using fixed teams or partnering (so each person works with only a few others)
• Ensuring that halls and communal spaces are well ventilated
• Teachers will wear masks when required.
What is Required of Parents and Students?
• It is each parent’s responsibility to ensure anyone who is sick or has symptoms of Covid-19 stays at home
• Face coverings must be worn by any parents or guardians entering any of the halls.
• Students should arrive already changed where possible to minimise the amount of waiting time at the halls
• Hand sanitiser will be available at all halls, please advise your children to use it
• Students should bring their belongings into the halls and will be shown where to put them
• Students will need to bring their own water bottles – no getting water from the kitchen
• Students must avoid gathering at entrance doors. Please be responsible and wait in a socially distanced manner. Please don’t all stand around the studio doors waiting for your class.
